Kabarole District Farmers Association (KDFA) implements practical, community led programmes that improve agricultural productivity, increase incomes and strengthen the resilience of smallholder farmers and rural youth.
Our programmes combine training, financial inclusion, agribusiness development and climate smart solutions. They are designed to be scalable, inclusive and aligned with national development priorities and donor objectives.
Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Smart Farming
KDFA promotes sustainable agricultural practices that increase productivity while protecting the environment.
Key activities include:
Farmer training in improved crop, livestock, dairy, fisheries, and apiary production
Establishment of technology demonstration sites
Promotion of climate smart and environmentally friendly farming practices
Support to research, innovation and adoption of improved technologies
This programme helps farmers adapt to climate change, improve yields, and manage natural resources responsibly.
Agribusiness Development and Market Access
KDFA supports farmers to move from subsistence farming to profitable agribusiness.

Formation and strengthening of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs)
Financial literacy and savings culture training
Business skills and entrepreneurship development
Linkages between mature VSLA groups and formal financial institutions
Through VSLA programming, farmers and youth access capital, manage risk, and invest in productive activities.
Youth Empowerment and Green Job Creation
